Institute of Industrial Ecological Sciences

The Institute of Industrial Ecological Sciences has been established in the University of Occupational and Environmental Health as an attached institute for the purpose of pursuing research and education in occupational health at a specialized level. In addition to research in various specific fields and joint research with partners both in and out of the university, this institute is involved in other activities such as education for School of Medicine and Graduate School students, postgraduate training related to occupational health, international training courses in occupational health and other projects.

Education at the Graduate School of Medical Science and School of Medicine

Faculty members of this institute provide education and guidance to graduate school students as educators in charge of lessons related to occupational health corresponding to their departments.
In the School of Medicine, subjects include "The Outline of Ergonomics", "Environmental Health Engineering", "Occupational Toxicology", "Mental Health", and "The Science of Safety." These subjects are taught at the Department of Ergonomics, Department of Environmental Health Engineering, Department of Environmental Toxicology, Department of Mental Health and Department of Work Systems and Health.

International Group Training Course in Occupation and Environmental Health Management for sustainable Developemnt

In cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), The Group Training Courses in Occupational Health intended for medical doctors and administrators aiming to learn occupational and environmental health have been held at this university since 1985. This project is one aspect of the technical cooperation with developing countries by the Japanese government.
