ワーカーズヘルスに関する研究
本研究は、WHO西太平洋地域事務局（WPRO-WHO）より委託を受け、WPRO-WHO加盟国で、総合的な労働健康管理体制が整備されているか明確にすることを目的として行われました。本研究室では、同加盟国における法制度や実態について、アンケート調査の企画・設計・取りまとめを行いました。
文献調査やアンケート調査を行った結果、西太平洋地域の国々では、労働者の健康を保護する取り組みが行われ、またいくつかの国々では、非感染症、心理社会的福祉を含む労働安全衛生に関する取り組みも拡大し始めていることが明らかになりました。
加えて本研究は、WPRO-WHO加盟国に対し基本的産業保健サービスが全労働者へ広く提供されるよう強化することを推奨し、慣習的な労働安全衛生に加え、慢性疾患の予防や肉体的・精神的健康の両面を含む産業保健サービスが促進されるよう検討することも推奨しました。なおこれらの成果はWHO-WPROより「Healthy Workers, Healthy Future」と題するパンフレットして出版されました。
The department conducted the desk review on the workers’ health programs in the Western Pacific Region.
The work was commissioned by WPRO-WHO.
This desk review was aimed to investigate the readiness for the shift towards an integrated approach toward workers’ health. The review of the existing literature and our survey findings indicate that countries within the Western Pacific are invested in protecting the health of workers, and several have begun to expand their occupational health and safety programs to incorporate health promotion, non-communicable disease prevention and psycho-social wellbeing.
The study recommended that countries are urged to remain committed to strengthening the delivery of basic occupational health services, while also considering how best to expand the scope of conventional OSH to incorporate services that aim to prevent chronic disease and promote health and mental wellbeing among all workers.
