Overview
University of Occupational and Environmental Health (UOEH) was established to promote occupational and environmental health and to educate medical and health professionals in April 1978.
At the same time, the department of neurology was founded, and Dr. Yoshiyuki Murai was inaugurated as the first professor. In April 1997, Dr Sadatoshi Tsuji has been inaugurated as the second professor up to the present.
The Division of Psychosomatic Medicine was founded in June 1990, and Dr. Masakazu Miyata was inaugurated as the first chief of the division. The current chief, Dr. Takakazu Oka, was appointed in April, 2002. He oversees education and research on psychosomatic medicine, and treats patients with psychosomatic diseases.
