High Resolution LC/MS System (JMS-SX102A Type, Japan Electronics Optical Laboratory Co., Ltd.)
The system generates a mass spectrum providing information about(1) the molecular weights of the samples, (2) the structures of a wide variety of complex molecular species. The samples are directly introduced after separation using an high performance liquid chromatography. A direct sample probe is also equipped for liquid and solid samples. The ionizing modes of FAB (Fast Atom Bombardment) and ESI (Electron Spray Ionization) are capable. The LC/MS system is applicable to low-volatile and/or thermally unstable compounds such as peptides, biological constituents, drugs, and their metabolites.
