The campus of UOEH is at Iseigaoka, Yahatanishi-ku, Kitakyushu City, which is located in the Northern Kyushu area of Kyushu Island, one of four major islands in Japan. Kitakyushu is a large provincial city with a population of one million is 70km east from Fukuoka, the largest city on Kyushu Island, 1,100km west from Tokyo, and 300km south from Busan, Korea. Although Kitakyushu had been the most famous city for iron manufacturing from 1940 until 1975, it is now being pressed to change into an industrially advanced city because of the business depression and commercial growth of surrounding countries. UOEH is acknowledged as a symbol of innovation and activation of Kitakyushu City.
