Prof. Nakata, Vice Director of International Center (Professor of Department of Occupational and Community Health Nursing) along with seven co-authors have received the 2015 Alice Hamilton Award from National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USA.

The Award honors Dr. Alice Hamilton, a pioneering researcher and occupational physician in the U.S. who devoted her life to research in occupational health. The award was founded in 1988 and it is awarded to a publication offering the most practical utility in occupational health among the past year's publications within NIOSH.

The paper, which is based on interviews with approx. 1300 long-haul truck drivers, was published in the American Journal of Industrial Medicine. It is expected to greatly aid the promotion of occupational health among long-haul truck drivers.
