2016 [5th] Volunteership Program at WHO Kobe Center (Posted on Jun. 7, 2016)
<Volunteership program at the WHO Kobe Center / Debrief session>
Based on an agreement between the WHO Kobe Center (WHO Centre for Health Development) and UOEH, the International Center initiated a volunteership program in the fiscal year of 2015 and sent its second participant, Dr. Tatsuhiko Kubo of the Department of Public Health, School of Medicine between February 15th to March 11th, 2016. One of the WHO Kobe Center's activities is to conduct research in disaster risk management, and Dr. Kubo conducted research on Emergency Minimum Data Set together with colleagues in WHO Kobe and WHO headquarters.
Dr. Kubo shared his experiences on this program at the debrief session hosted by International Center on June 2, 2016. Under the title of "Trend at home and abroad towards Disaster Medical Record Standardization -Contribution by UOEH to Kumamoto earthquake and G7 Summit in Ise-Shima", he presented the on-going research and plan to promote the Disaster Medical Record Standardization globally in cooperation with WHO and other international organizations as well as some counterpart governments.
2016 [6th] Workshop with NIOHP, China CDC (Posted on Jun. 27, 2016)

UOEH participated in a workshop for occupational health hosted by the National Institute of Occupational Health and Poison Control, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NIOHP, China CDC) in Beijing on May 19. This workshop was held based on the Memorandum of Understanding which has been signed in April between UOEH and NIOHP, China CDC.
Headed by President Higashi, seven faculty members of UOEH, Director Li and young researchers as well as graduate students from NIOHP, China CDC, participated in the workshop. Following introduction of research activities from both institutions, many questions by the students led to a keen discussion.
