UOEH hosted the JICA country focused training program for Iraq entitled "Training for Medical Staff and Assistants in Diagnosing Occupational Diseases" from February 16 to 28, 2017. Nine participants from Iraq and Kurdistan region attended the lectures regarding occupational health including tours within and outside of UOEH.

2017 [2nd] Volunteership Program at the WHO Kobe Center (Posted on Mar. 15, 2017) 

 

 <Volunteership Program at the WHO Kobe Center>

 

Based on an agreement between the WHO Kobe Center (WHO Center for Health Development) and UOEH, the International Center initiated a volunteership program and sent its third participant, Dr. Shinichi Tomioka of the Department of Public Health to the WHO Kobe Center from January 30th to March 3rd, 2017.

 

Dr. Tomioka, together with colleagues at the WHO Kobe Center, conducted research on the characteristics and main features of primary care systems in five developed countries by case studies and reviewed scientific literature in order to address the specific needs of aging populations.

Prof. Nakata, Director of the International Center, Prof. Ueno of the Department of Occupational Toxicology, and Research Associate. Yamada of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health Management attended to the Japan-China Symposium on Occupational Safety and Health  in Suzhou, China on March 8. Prof. Ueno gave a presenation entitled "Management of Organic Solvents in Japanese Work Sites and Its Challenges". Participants were mainly from Japan and Chinese government.
