Prof. Yasuo Morimoto, Department of Pneumology/Director of the Institute of Industrial Ecological Sciences and Prof. Kazuhiro Yatera, Department of Respiratory Medicine attended the WHO Collaborating Centres Workshop on Occupational Lung Disease held in Hanoi, Vietnam on November 14, 2019. Together with Catholic University of Korea, they contributed to this workshop by providing lectures on “Patho-physiological features of occupational lung disease (Fibrosis and carcinogenesis)”, “Basics of occupational diseases surveillance in Japan. How to get compensation for Occupational Diseases”, as well as “Practice -How to read chest X-ray for occupational lung diseases-“. The workshop was organized by the National Institute of Occupational & Environmental Health, Vietnam (NIOEH), and supported by WHO office in Hanoi and WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific Region as a follow-up after the workshop organized by WHO office in Vietnam in November, 2018. Twenty medical doctors specialized in occupational diseases participated in the workshop.

2019 [18th] UOEH ranked 6th in Japan, and 1st among Japanese private universities on THE World University Rankings 2020 by subject: clinical, pre-clinical and health (Posted on Dec. 2, 2019)


<UOEH ranked 6th in Japan, and 1st among Japanese private universities on THE World University Rankings 2020 by subject: clinical, pre-clinical and health>

 

According to THE World University Rankings 2020 by subject: clinical, pre-clinical and health released by Times Higher Education on November 19, UOEH ranked 6th in Japan, 1st among Japanese private universities and 176-200th globally.

In total, 775 universities globally including 72 Japanese universities were listed in the rankings. According to THE, “The 2020 Times Higher Education World University Rankings table for clinical, preclinical and health subjects uses the same trusted and rigorous performance indicators as the overall World University Rankings, but the metric weightings have been recalibrated to suit the individual fields”. The World University rankings were calculated based on the 13 performance indicators in 5 key criterias such as Teaching, Research, Citations, International Outlook and Industry Income.
