<International Occupational Health Practice 2019 with Catholic University of Daegu>

Based on the partnership agreement signed in 2007, we welcomed three faculty members and sixteen students from the Catholic University of Daegu, Korea from January 26 to 29. The agreement aims at promoting collaborations between the faculties and the students. The participants of both universities attended workshops and tours in/out of UOEH and had a great opportunity to interact with each other. Our faculty members and students are scheduled to visit Daegu later this year.

On January 10, twenty six members (twenty two residents and graduate students as well as four faculty members) from the Graduate School of Occupational Health, the Catholic University of Korea visited UEOH for the annual meeting FY2019. This yearly program is implemented based on the agreement on academic cooperation, which was signed in February 2003 between the Institute of Industrial Ecological Sciences (IIES), UOEH and the Graduate School of Occupational Health, the Catholic University of Korea. Participants had a meeting with UOEH residents and faculty of IIES to introduce their research activities to each other, and discussions followed after the meeting.

2020 [3rd] Implementation of SAKURA Exchange Program in Science supported by JST (Posted on Feb. 10, 2020)

<Implementation of SAKURA Exchange Program in Science supported by JST>

Under the SAKURA Exchange Program in Science (Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science) supported by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), UOEH hosted four students, six graduate students and one accompanying faculty from the School of Medicine, University of Indonesia from January 26 to February 1. This is the fifth time for UOEH to implement this program.

The theme for this program was "Promotion of international exchange between Japan and Indonesia through occupational health perspectives". In the lectures provided by UOEH faculty members in their expertise in occupational medicine/health, many questions raised by the students during the program proved that the students were all eager to learn from the program. At Toyota Motor Kyushu, we joined a factory tour while looking at their working environment and working conditions with the perspective of occupational health. In addition, the students enjoyed the lunch and interaction with UOEH students as well as Kitakyushu city tour.

We would be more than happy if this program gave the students an opportunity to further their understanding and interest in Japan and Japanese culture. We sincerely hope this program promotes the young students' continuous interest in Japan, and finally to bear a fruit as them coming back to Japan to study or other forms of collaboration between the countries.

Lastly, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to JST's warm support and kind cooperation by everyone involved in this program.
