The 4th Western Pacific WHO Collaborating Center (WHOCC) Regional Forum, organized by WHO Western Pacific Regional Office (WPRO), was held in Siem Reap, Cambodia, on November 28-29, 2022.
Professor Yasuo Morimoto (Dept. of Occupational Pneumology) and Associate Professor Tomohiro Ishimaru (Dept. of Environmental Epidemiology) participated the forum onsite. The objectives of this forum were to reflect on how WHO and WHOCCs have worked together, to review how WHO and WHOCCs have cooperated since the 3rd Forum held in Vietnam in 2018, and to discuss ways to maximize and streamline WHOCC's contribution to WHO's activities in each country.
The Forum was held with the aim of reviewing how WHO has cooperated since the previous forum.
The Forum featured presentations of activities since the last forum, including oral and poster presentations. Our university's international efforts were highly appreciated by the WHO and other WHOCCs, which requested various forms of support. We believe that we need to further strengthen our efforts as a WHOCC in order to enhance the international status of our university.
