2023 [1st] Ulsan University Hospital visited UOEH, Japan (Posted on Jan. 30, 2023)
Six members (doctors and residents) from Ulsan University Hospital in Korea visited the Institute of Industrial Ecological Sciences (IIES) from January 16 to 20.
This program is based on the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) signed in 2018, which stipulates that the two countries will visit each other every other year to conduct exchanges.
The exchange program was postponed due to COVID-19, but resumed for the first time in almost two years. The delegation visited twelve departments at IIES and had a fruitful discussion after sharing the latest information on occupational health situations in each country and giving presentations on current research of both institutions.

2023 [2nd] Implementation of SAKURA Science Exchange Program supported by JST (Posted on Feb. 6, 2023)
Under the SAKURA Science Exchange Program, supported by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), UOEH hosted 3 students and 1 faculty member from the Department of Public Health, University of Georgia, USA, 6 students and 2 faculty members from the Institute of Home Economics, University of Delhi, India, and 4 students and 1 faculty member from Department of Environmental Safety, Daegu Catholic University, South Korea. This is the 6th time for us to implement this program at UOEH, Japan.
The theme of the program was "Health and Welfare of People with "Everyone is Different"". This exchange program brought together students from 4 countries with very different cultures, and provided an opportunity for them to consider the future of society from their own countries and from a global perspective under the theme of Japanese social technology.
The students asked many questions and listened attentively to the lectures on occupational medicine given by our faculty members.
The students also had the opportunity to visit the YASKAWA Innovation Center, Shabondama Soap factory, and the TOTO Museum, as well as to interact with UOEH students.
We would be more than happy if this program gave the students an opportunity to further their understanding and interest in Japan and Japanese culture. We sincerely hope this program promotes the young students' continuous interest in Japan, and finally to bear a fruit as them coming back to Japan to study or other forms of collaboration between the countries.
