2023 [3rd] Annual meeting with the Graduate School of Occupational Health, the Catholic University of Korea (Posted on Feb.16, 2023)

Eleven members of the Institute of Industrial Ecological Sciences (IIES) visited the Graduate School of Occupational Health, the Catholic University of Korea for the annual meeting from January 27 to 28, 2023. This yearly program is implemented based on the agreement on academic cooperation, which was signed in February 2003 between IIES and the Graduate School of Occupational Health, the Catholic University of Korea. This annual meeting was postponed due to COVID-19, but resumed for the first time in almost three years.The participants from both institutions joined a meeting to introduce their research activities to each other and a factory tour followed.

2023 [4th] MOU was signed with Samitivej Hospital, Thailand (posted on Feb. 21, 2023)

On February 9, President Yutaka Otsuji and Assoc. Prof. Tomohiro Ishimaru visited Samitivej Hospital in Thailand to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the purpose of alliance on health professionals exchange training. The signing ceremony was solemnly and grandly held in the presence of Ambassador Kazuya Nashida of the Embassy of Japan in Thailand, Counsellor Kurita (Medical Officer in charge of Asia and Pacific Region), and other guests.

Prior to the signing ceremony, the participants visited Samitivej Hospital Sukhumvit and Samitivej Hospital Sriracha, including the Japanese Medical Center, where a total of 130,000 Japanese patients are seen annually, as well as Japanese-only ward and the Occupational Medicine Center within the hospital.

We are scheduled to accept 2 doctors and 2 nurses from Samitivej Hospital Group for a 10-day training program in May 2023.

2023 [5th] Universitas Islam Bandung, Indonesia visited UOEH (Posted on Mar. 3, 2023)

On March 2, Dr. Nanan Sekarwana, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Islam Bandung, Indonesia, and five others visited UOEH to learn about occupational health education. After a courtesy visit to President Yutaka Otsuji and Prof. Yoshiya Tanaka, Director of International Center, they toured the Institute of Industrial and Ecological Sciences, and Vice President Seichi Horie gave an introduction of our university and occupational medicine and ouccpational health education.It is hoped that this visit will lead to future joint research and cooperative relationships.
